How to Lose Weight


People everywhere are wondering how to lose weight. There are many books on the subject, many opinions about the best methods, the right foods, the right type of exercise, etc.  Doctors, fitness trainers, and nutitionists all weigh in on the subject (no pun intended).

Obviously, every person is different. Our bodies are different, some have allergies, some have special nutritional needs, and so on. Our brains are different-I am emotional, you are not, this one eats for security, this one doesn’t. What works for you may not work for the next person.

But there are a few constants. One is that a diet, if you look up the root of the word, is a lifestyle. It is not a temporary fix until I lose the weight, because when I am “done” dieting and return to my old habits, what happens? My weight starts to climb again.

We need to change our lifestyle to enhance our health. That means several things:

    * We need to get more exercise.
    * We need to get the right kind of exercise.
    * We need to learn how to raise our metabolism.
    * We need to know what and how much to eat.
    * We need to find a way that we can stick with.

There are information products that are designed to help you lose weight and start being healthier. But how do you sort through them and find the one that is right for you? I want to help you do that.

There are products that cost you something and products that are free. There are products that concentrate on your eating habits and those that concentrate on your exercise habits.

I plan to use this website as a way to show all these things to you. There will be a forum that you can join to share your concerns and your triumphs and to encourage one another. There is a blog already set up to provide free information about nutrition and exercise and healthy living.

I will be adding to this site on a regular basis so check back often. Leave comments and tell what works for you. This is meant to be an interactive site. We all have to live on this planet together, so we should help each other as much as we can.
